ALTERNATIVE FUEL

Welcome to the website dedicated to conserving the planet earth for the future generation. Our interest is more on alternative fuels. This means any products, materials, chemical elements, forces of nature, etc. that can replace gasoline.

In the 21st until 30th of March 2008 the International Auto Show was held in Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York. It showcased all kind of cars and trucks. There are allmost a thousand vehicles on display in this mammoth convention center. I went with my children to the show so I could see what progress the motor industry has achieved in curbing greenhouse gas and the gradual departure of octane-using engine technology. I was a bit disappointed. I did not see any improvement in any of the cars displayed particularly those that are readily available in the market.

Cars that promise brighter future for our children are still in the concept stage. Some of these cars will be out in production in 5 to 10 years. We have hybrid cars that most automakers have highlighted in their presentation. But these cars run short of my expectation in term of gas economy and cost to consumer.

Below are the alternative fuels that we are investigating. We check the vehicles at the auto show if the fuels below have been used to power the models on display. Most of the cars still use gasoline. Fuels for hybrid cars have to be mixed with gasoline with fuels indicated below. We try to find feasable alternative fuels in the near future . We want to find how it can improve our deteriorating environment. We also investigate if these fuels are cheap enough to produce and affordable to consumers. Face with skyrocketing gas prices, I take the intiative to check some fuels that will replace gasoline. Sooner or later, gasoline will be history and we will have sustainable supply of fuels to power our vehicles. To say the least, the next generation will get rid of fossils or bio fuels. Cars and machineries will be powered without them. But that will be the scenerio in our children's generation. I wish our children or children's children do not look back to us and throw the blame that we destroyed their habitat, pollute the sea and kill its living creatures, denude the forest and wipe living species on it out to extinction, do nothing to world's runaway population, explore and expand business for the sake of profits without regards to environmental conservation, continue drilling fossil fuels despite being plague by global warming, green house gasses, and slow to study new ways to power our cars, vehicles, machineries, communities, and our societies.

I went to New York International Auto Show with my children partly to make an investigation on the use of altenative fuels in mind and to have fun with the children, instead of confining ourselves at home in this wintry weekend. I just refuel my car and the price stung me deep in my pocket. As such, I thought "let's see what the auto has for us."

Ther are still areas in the world that have untouched and unexplored lands, provinces, islands, and forests. You can find them mostly in the tropical countries. Below is our sister website that promotes beach properties in the tropics particularly in Northern Samar Philippines. Our beaches and ocean are still clean. We do not have industry in the province. We still have virgin forest, unpolluted rivers vast track of lands with a population of half million only. We mainly cater to retirees and individuals who love living in a virgin environment and who are concern about enviromental conservation. Northern Samar is still uncrowded so the burden of the environment to the impact of civilization is not that high. We like our environmentally concerned retirees to come, live with us, be an example to the locals by showing us the proper way to live in an environmentally friendly society. Please visit the warm paradise of the Philippines and reserve your beach property soon.

What has this got to do with alterntive fuels? This has a lot to do with it. We have to conserve the remaining natural resources. Exploring another ways to curb global warming is part of conservation. To live or retire in an unexplored, untouched environment is to help maintain its pristine nature and teach people to conserve it. If you do not go there, people will go there. And the devastation begins.

Recycling and proper garbage disposal are what we practiced here in the USA (and in most parts of the world). Burning garbage in the backyard, throwing garbage in the river or throwing them in a remote corner of the community is not our common practice. Burning forest to clear for land is a big NO in the USA. Well folks, these are happening in the third world countries. Luckily, there are significant areas, such as the Philippines, that are still pristine and untouched. I invite you to go there, to live and to emanate example to the locals about conserving the environment. Help educate the people to continue the waste management activities that we practiced here. People will see you and they will follow.

Motor vehicles help us run our lives. These use gasoline. We all know that gasoline is one cause of global warming. Alternative fuels can be costly too, not only for our budget but also for the environment. Thus, we evaluate very well each of the alternative fuels highlighted at the Auto Show and see which one can be advantagious to our quest for a better source of energy.

Now back to ALTERNATIVE FUELS.
